Our Commitment
ANONTEA was built by people who believe privacy is a right, not a feature. We don't just claim to be private... We architect our systems so that we cannot violate your privacy, even if we wanted to.
What We Promise
No Identity Collection
We don't ask for emails, phone numbers, or real names. Your identity is a randomly generated anonymous ID.
No IP Address Logging
We do not store IP addresses in application logs. DDOS mitigation uses short-lived rotating tokens that cannot be traced back to you.
No Ad Tracking
Zero analytics, zero advertising networks, zero third-party trackers. We don't monetize your data because we don't have it.
End-to-End Encryption
Messages are encrypted on your device before being sent. The server only sees ciphertext. We cannot read your messages.
The Honest Truth About "No Logs"
Many apps claim "zero logs" but that's rarely technically accurate. Here's what we actually do:
What "Minimal Logs" Means
We keep minimal operational security events with strict retention (24–72 hours). These include: rate-limit triggers, spam detection events, and invite redemption attempts. No message content, no IP addresses, no identifiers beyond rotating tokens.
| Data Type | Retention | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Encrypted Messages | Per room settings: Ephemeral (auto-delete), TTL-based (24h–7d), or local-only (never stored) | Users control message persistence |
| Security Events | 24–72 hours | Rate-limit triggers, spam detection, invite attempts (no PII) |
| Abuse Reports | Until resolved + 30 days | Required for moderation without deanonymizing |
| Invite Codes | Until expiry or revocation | Single-use codes with usage counters |
| Room Metadata | While room is active | Encrypted room settings, no message content |
What We Will Never Do
Your Privacy Controls
Ephemeral Rooms
Set auto-delete timers from minutes to days. Messages disappear permanently.
Local-Only Mode
Keep history only in your browser. Server never stores messages.
Identity Rotation
Get a new anonymous identity anytime. No trace between identities.
